RECREATIONAL THERAPIST

JOB SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Recreational Therapist is to coordinate and plan therapeutic recreational activities for program participants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Must be a Licensed Recreational Therapist (LRT) and meet the education, supervised clinical experience and other requirements, including practice in accordance with professional standards of practice and codes of ethics of the NC Board of Recreational Therapy Licensure (NC BRTL). Minimum 2 years' experience in social or recreational program providing and coordinating services for a frail or elderly population within the past 5 years.

• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Must meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PHSC and approved by CMS before working independently.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Type of Employees Supervised: None
Licensure, Registry or Certification Required: Licensed Recreational Therapist. Valid NC driver's license.
Immunizations: Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date prior to beginning employment.
