About Position: The Project Coordinator-Contracts is responsible for assisting with coordinating, monitoring and modifying contract and grant sub-contract processing, procedures and activities. Reviews contract requests and proposals, and serves in a liaison capacity between departmental/interdepartmental staff and external vendors and/or agencies. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with departmental administrators and representatives of contracted agencies to secure cooperation in the development of procedures and resolution of contract and grant sub-contract related activity.

Duties/ Responsibilities –
- Assist with the overall process of contract execution; planning new contracts and amendments in a timely manner; works with departmental and/or interdepartmental staff to plan for contract timeline.
- Monitors contract status through established interdepartmental or external routes.
- Composes correspondence independently for the signature of Piedmont Health Authorized Officials.
- Prepare contracts by gathering required vendor and financial data from various sources including program and fiscal staff; modifies contract templates and exhibits as needed.
- Meets with departmental and interdepartmental staff to determine necessary terms and provisions to be included in contracts and grant sub-contracts.
- Participates in contract negotiations on the appropriateness of contract terms.
- Work with key stakeholders to develop a cost-effective and working production process such as IT, external partners (UNC) and medical leadership, Coordinating home care services.
- Interprets contract rules and regulations.
- Serves in a liaison capacity between departmental and interdepartmental personnel, and external agency staff in the resolution of contract and grant sub-contract related problems.
- Assist with the preparation of grant applications; acts as liaison with state, federal and private agencies to ensure grant programs meet applicable guidelines.
- Assist with developing and implementing the department's.
- Position requires good organizational skills, ability to work with minimal supervision with great attention to detail. Understanding of vendor contract requirements and contract negotiating, grant and grant sub-contracts.
- The ability to identify and revise terms and conditions of a contract to best meet the needs of the organization, computer systems application, knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH and Omnibus requirements, knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy laws and accreditation standards, ability to conduct staff training, understanding of contract concepts and the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms.
Qualifications –
- A minimum of two-years' experience in a medical/health care setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- An understanding of contract negotiations, grant sub-contract administration, cost principles, accounting principles/guidelines and other policies that impact contracts preferred.
- Exceptional initiative, judgment, problem solving, interpersonal, customer service, and computer skills are necessary.
