JOB SUMMARY

The Program Specialist will support the work of the Quality Improvement Fund – Maternal Health grant as part of the PHS Innovation Center to implement collaborative programming with community partners to advance maternal health equity for women served by the perinatal program. Provide daily support to the work of the project, which will include both work with clinical teams to assure continuity of care and closure of referral loops for those at highest risk for poor maternal outcomes as well as chart abstraction for key evaluation data that cannot easily be abstracted via customized program reports. The Program Specialist will participate in all learning collaboratives and carry information gleaned from these sessions to the Project Advisory Council members. Additionally, the program specialist supports the Innovation Center including but not limited to coordinating meetings, future center projects, pre-and post-award grant activities, progress reports, tracking current grants and staff percent efforts, establish timelines and project workflows, and financial tasks like gathering invoices, tracking project budgets and enforcing budget guidelines.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Business Administration, Health Management or Health Administration

Experience:  Preferred at least one to three years of experience in healthcare, public health, data analysis and/or project coordination. Working with many levels of staff, i.e., medical providers, nurses, support staff, senior leadership and board members; quality and regulatory agencies, i.e. HRSA, TJC, PCMH, CMS

Computer Skills: Ability to use computerized tracking tools; Experience with data collection, analysis and reporting, including chart audits and clinical analysis. Excellent skills with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel). Experience with population management principles.

Requires frequent sitting and standing. Operation of standard office machines and computer. May require lifting of up to

2   5 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal vision range. Work is performed in an office environment.
