JOB SUMMARY:
A medical scribe supports the provider by entering clinical documentation on their behalf. Medical scribes accompany one provider at a time into the exam room and directly observe that physician's encounters with patients. Scribes accurately document clinical information and events that occur during the visit. Scribe also assists with pre-visit planning and referral tracking. This position will also cross-train as a medical assistant. Practices within the scope of Piedmont Health Services policies, procedures, and standards. May be required to float to other clinical sites within the Piedmont Health organization. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field preferred
Current/valid License: None.
Minimum Experience:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Aptitude for problem-solving
- Ability to incorporate constructive feedback and learn on the job.
- Patient-centered focus.
- Bilingual
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience in a health-care related environment
PATIENT POPULATION SERVED:
Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric, Prenatal. Diverse population of patients.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:
Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, pulling and pushing. Performance of essential duties requires
close and distance vision and hearing acuity. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, generally more than 25 pounds.
A clinical environment with exposure to chemicals, pathogens and patient body fluids. Requires working under stressful
