Job Title –  Accountant I - Payable

Department – Finance

Reports to – Finance Manager

About Position: Position serves as support to the Finance Supervisor, and the accounts payable and general ledger functions.

  • Work Location: Corp Admin Office

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Required Travel: none

Duties/ Responsibilities – 

  • Scan and send copies of invoices to be paid by Senior Care.           
    • Code accounts payable invoices.
    • Code grant related AP invoices.
    • Enter AP invoices in MIP.
    • Review AP aging reports and prepare weekly check runs for approval.
    • Maintain Void/Spoiled Check register (record spoils).
    • Answer questions from vendors and employees (account management).
    • Reconcile vendor account statements to MIP accounting software.
    • Faxes proof of payments and request for invoices to vendors.
    • Audit files quarterly.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications - 

Education: High School Diploma and two years experience as Accounting Clerk or Associate Degree in Accounting or Business Administration. Knowledge of basics accounting. Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Ten-key experience
  • Superior attention to detail
  • MIP Fund Accounting
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Requires frequent sitting for long periods, operation of standard office machines and computer.
  • May require lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer terminals, telephones or copiers.
  • Requires normal vision range. 
  • Work is performed in an office environment. 
  • Contact with staff and external clients/vendors.

Preferred: Microsoft Office, email/internet and ability to learn other healthcare related software.

Pay Range - $20.48 - $27.52
